装いは、時代ごとの価値観を映している。
テーラリングやドレスは、単に身体を覆う衣服ではなく、場に対する敬意を示し、着る人の意識や振る舞いを整えるものとして発達してきた。構造や仕立て、素材、装飾の背後には、人が人生の節目や公的な場面にどのような態度で臨むべきかという、社会的な規範と美意識の蓄積がある。

身体を美しく見せるための基準、場にふさわしいとされる色や形、求められる振る舞い。こうした慣習は、装いに一定の秩序と礼節を与えてきた一方で、それぞれの時代における性別観、身体観、社会的役割とも不可分に結びついてきた。

人の生き方や関係性が変化した現在においても、人生の節目に着る服には、過去に形成された規範が色濃く残されている。既存の形式をそのまま受け入れれば、着る人自身の感覚との間に乖離が生まれることがある。しかし、形式をすべて取り払えば、その場を他の時間から区別する緊張感や、他者に対する礼節まで失われかねない。

テーラリングが培ってきた構造と仕立て、ドレスが発展させてきた素材と装飾を、完成された様式として踏襲するのではなく、その成立過程にある技術と美意識を抽出し、現在の身体感覚や価値観に即して再構成する。

着る人が自分自身の感覚を失うことなく、その場にふさわしい態度を持てること。衣服によって身体や振る舞いを規定されるのではなく、装いを通してその人の佇まいが整えられること。

過去の様式を再現するのではなく、そこに蓄積された価値を検証し、現在を生きる人のための装いとして提示する。

Dress reflects the values of each era.
Tailoring and dresses have evolved not merely as garments to cover the body, but as expressions of respect for the occasion — shaping the wearer's awareness and bearing. Behind their structure, craftsmanship, materials, and ornamentation lies an accumulated social code and aesthetic sensibility about how one should present oneself at life's milestones and in public settings.

Standards for presenting the body beautifully, colors and silhouettes deemed appropriate for the occasion, expected comportment — these conventions have lent dress a certain order and decorum, while remaining inseparably tied to the gender norms, conceptions of the body, and social roles of each era.

Even today, as the ways people live and relate to one another have changed, the garments worn at life's milestones still carry the weight of norms formed in the past. To accept existing forms as they are can create a disconnect with the wearer's own sensibility. Yet to abandon all formality risks losing the tension that distinguishes such moments from everyday life — and the sense of consideration toward others.

Rather than inheriting the structures and tailoring that tailoring has cultivated, or the materials and ornamentation that dressmaking has developed, as finished forms to be replicated, we extract the techniques and aesthetic sensibility underlying their creation and reconstruct them in accordance with contemporary bodily awareness and values.

For the wearer to carry themselves appropriately for the occasion without losing their own sense of self. Not to have the body and bearing defined by the garment, but for one's presence to be composed through dress.

Not to reproduce the forms of the past, but to examine the values accumulated within them and present dress for those living in the present.
